Happy Easter! You may remember the verdant beauty of last Easter. This Easter, however, was a different story:
We made due though. Eliza was very excited about her Easter basket which included such treasure as Princess Scotch Tape, Hello Kitty bubbles, books, sand toys, a game and of course, candy! We had a good day at church. It was an exciting day as Primary President as ALL of my teachers (and substitutes) were out of town. Thankfully, we only had 5 kids. So, we made a party of it. But enough of my babble. You want pictures, right?
In other news, happy birthday to my baby brother, D! Here is a picture of him looking like a cave man. Love you, brother!

What?!
Last night, we went to Red Pepper for my birthday dinner (more pictures to follow). We ate an amazing dinner, and then came the fortune cookies. We received the following fortunes:
1. Failure is feedback. And feedback is the breakfast of champions.
2. Never measure the height of a mountain until you have reached the top.
3. Mutual assistance in despair will make the ugly situation more fair.
4. Calamity is the touchstone of a brave mind.
5. Nothing is more difficult and therefore more precious than to be able to decide.
Really!?! Either Debbie Downer got a job writing fortune cookies or the fortune cookie industry is trying to be responsive to the down turn in the economy.
All I can say is, "Wow!" Just wow!

Snakes, School, Stuff...Ssssss....
I know the week isn't over yet, but it has been exciting so far. Here is the report:
Don't you like her "model" pose? She's so funny!Sunday: 1 p.m. church is a killer! Eliza loves Nursery though. She had a great day at actual church, but afterwards, it was rough. She didn't want to take a nap and was so cranky. Our friends Ryan & Whit came over for dinner.
Monday: We had family home evening with our neighbors. They have a snake. Eliza proved that she is indeed my child. She couldn't wait to pet him. In fact, the hard part was keeping E from sticking her fingers in its eyes or mouth. Before you start calling child services, it was a ball python, which is the golden retriever of the herpetological world. I'm so proud though!
Tuesday: Eliza started preschool. She "luffs" school! Two of our neighbors also attend, and they were so sweet and helped her adjust. She's made tons of friends already. Here is a picture of her with her teacher.
Wednesday: It was Violet's first birthday!! Can you believe it!?! We are so excited to attend her party. Eliza has been singing "Happy Birthday" all week.
Thursday: School day again! Eliza was so excited this morning. She didn't even bother to tell me bye. She was too busy.
We are going to Orange County for V's birthday this weekend! Can't wait!
