The Muse

Here he is on Melinda's blog:
Here he is on Amanda B's blog:
And of course, I have my very own view on him:

A Trip to Paris

Paris, IDAHO that is. We went for a wagon ride and dutch oven dinner. The kids loved the animals.

The Beach at Bear Lake

The beach at Bear Lake far surpassed my expectations. The water was clear and refreshing and the color was just so lovely. The sand (which I think was trucked in) was nice. The kids played in the sand, napped under the umbrellas, played on the tube. On Weds, Aaron & Emily rented a paddle boat. The kids had lots of fun paddling around. But the best was the jet skis. We rented jet skis two days. Even Doug and Julie rode. In fact, the talk of the reunion was when Doug pitched Andrew off of the back (completely accidentally, but none the less funny!). Also, I took Stephanie's son, Ryan, riding and he did a complete 360 nose dive! I was really impressed.

See, I was there. Amanda M. is behind me. You can see her arms.

Boating on Bear Lake

While at Bear Lake, Claron's uncle, David, rented a boat for everyone to use. We water skied, tubed, and wake boarded. Lots of fun was had by all. Thanks to Uncle David for the boat. (In return, he got a horrible sunburn.)

Sorry there aren't more pictures. I was either participating in water sports, driving the boat, or trying to sleep off my stupid sinus infection.

Aunt Sarah pilots the boat.
Eliza & Sam enjoy a ride.
Eliza feels the wind in her hair.

Next up: The beach

From the Top

We came into Bear Lake via Logan. It was such a beautiful drive. The canyon was beautiful. It had lots of conifers and a little stream. As we crested the mountain, there were beautiful views of the lake.

Conquering Timpanogos

While we were still in Utah, Claron climbed Mt. Timpanogos to the summit with Aaron, his dad and his niece, Amanda. Here's the kicker though. He did it in FLIP FLOPS!

Pictures taken by Aaron. The last picture is a panorama made of 4 different pictures. Click on it to see it larger. It is the view of the Utah lake and the whole of the valley (Provo).

Ridge Family Reunion 2010

This year Claron's grandpa, Alf, turned 90. In honor of this event, Claron's Aunt Mary organized a family reunion in Bear Lake, Utah. The next few posts will revolve around the events in and around Bear Lake. We initially drove to St. George, stayed with Claron's grandpa, Von Brown, who is 92. The next day we drove to the lake. After the reunion, we stayed a few days in Utah with family and friends. Here is Alf (as taken by Melinda):

As Seen Through the Eyes of Another

This picture of Eliza was taken by Claron's cousin, John's, wonderful wife, Melinda. I think she really captured her.

Longwood Gardens

As part of our family reunion, we visited Longwood Gardens. Longwood is a huge garden that was developed by the duPonts. It is absolutely fabulous. It has a conservatory, an open air theatre, tons of fountains. Eliza's favorite part was the ballroom and the children's gardens. She called the ballroom the "princess party room."

Here are the pictures:

Cousins

Growing up, everyone in my family had a cousin the same age. My same aged cousin, Melissa, and I were inseparable growing up. While Melissa and I don't see each other as much anymore, I still appreciate my "hockey puck sister." Looks like Eliza may have a "hockey puck sister" of her own.

Sam & Eliza

P.S. Sam is actually a year older than Eliza, but they don't seem to care.

Kate!

We are in Delaware for Claron's family reunion. My sis-in-law, Chrissee, always gets awesome pictures done of her daughter, Taryn. So, while we were all here, she asked her photographer, Kate to do family photos. Here are some of what she put up. You can find the rest here. She hasn't put them all up yet.
